SAMPLE SCHEDULE

Daily schedules vary from room to room, but generally a day proceeds as follows:

9:00-9:10 ARRIVAL AND GREETINGS Teachers warmly welcome each child to the classroom and support them in settling into the morning routine at school. Parents connect with the teachers and say goodbye to their children.
9:10-9:50 CENTERS AND TABLE ACTIVITIES There is free choice among a variety of activities in the learning centers: reading center, writing center, manipulative toys/games/puzzles, dramatic play, sensory table, block center, and art center. Additionally, two tables have planned academic activities, such as science and math activities.
9:50-10:00 T’FILLAH Traditional songs are sung together with an emphasis on the meaning of the Hebrew prayers. Informal prayers are included as well.
10:00-10:30 OUTSIDE TIME Use of playground equipment & group games.
10:30-10:45 SNACK TIME A healthy snack consisting of a fruit or vegetable, cracker and cup of water, is served.
10:45-11:00 CIRCLE TIME Circle time with music, stories and games to introduce a theme and its concepts or to practice specific skills in a fun, group-oriented way.
11:00-11:30 PROJECT TIME Opportunities for children to divide into smaller groups and partake in projects or activities to further explore a theme or concept and sharpen specific skills.
11:30-12:00 SPECIAL ACTIVITY TIME Every day a different Special Instructorrs comes in to do an activity with the children: animal and nature studies, sports and gymnastics, music and movement, art classes, yoga and puppet shows, Shabbat Celebration.
